We always find inspiration from icons we’ve had the honor to work for and alongside, legends in the hospitality and general business community – and from our restaurant, hotel and supplier clients. We often get some grief for wanting to listen too much, but that’s ok, that’s how we make sure we fully understand situations and challenges.
Also, we find enormous inspiration from business writers and management gurus, one being a great resource for us, Lolly Daskal (Twitter @lollydaskal ). She often reminds us that we are here to serve and leave the world a better place – we endeavor every day to make our clients, colleagues and communities better for the future.
Whenever we undertake a client project, our first step is a half day discovery meeting, where we gather our client’s team and listen and listen and listen to what they’ve done to date, who they’ve worked and sold to, what their customer base reflects, and what their short and long term goals are all about. It’s critically important to listen before providing counsel or advice – that’s one of the reasons we are undertaking our own name change to Hospitality Advisors – we’ve always been about collaboration rather than issuing endless reports or working on unclear metrics.
